I am a writer, homeschool mom, entrepreneur, and former fifth-grade teacher with over twenty years of experience teaching, raising children, and navigating the exact pressures you are facing right now.
When I first accepted a fifth-grade teaching position, I was worried. I had no viable writing curriculum to work from. So I took action, found a starting point, and spent the next eleven years building and refining a curriculum that has helped hundreds of children find their voice and write with confidence.
When my students took the state writing test for the first time, they scored higher than 50% of the national average.
One of those students was later accepted to the US Naval Academy. He told his mom he would not have been able to write his application essay without the foundation he built in fifth grade.
Every year I taught, I watched children overcome their dread of writing. Many of them learned to love it. Every single one left with a stronger voice and more confidence than they came in with.

WHAT A CONSULTATION CAN HELP YOU WITH
Whether you are just getting started or you have hit a wall, here is what we can work through together:
Curriculum questions Getting started, sequencing lessons, and adapting the pace to your child's needs
Learning styles and delivery How to deliver lessons in varied ways to keep kids engaged and make writing feel less like a chore
Common writing obstacles Resistance to writing, flat or boring writing, not knowing what to write, struggling to describe things in detail, or difficulty expressing thoughts on the page
Your confidence as a teacher If you feel like a "bad writer" yourself and wonder how you can possibly teach writing, we can work through that too. You do not need to be a great writer to teach one.
Anything else on your mind If you simply need someone to truly listen and hear you about writing, schooling, or children, I get it. I have been there. Sometimes that is exactly where we start.

My daughter is a young adult living an amazing life on her terms and thriving. My son is a teenager, homeschooling, and spending most of his days in flow doing exactly what he loves. He came home from the last day of fourth grade and told me he was never going back. I said, “Okay, let us do this.” I let go of my traditional expectations as a former public school teacher fast, and we have not looked back. Stressful mornings are a thing of the past.

Fill in a short note about what you are working through so I can come prepared.
We meet by Zoom for 50 minutes. Cameras off after greeting, or unless you want to share some work with me. You will leave with specific, practical next steps tailored to your situation.
Sessions are $50 per 50 minutes. Follow-up sessions are available any time.
